Extreme heat is in the forecast for forecast for many locales in Indiana this coming week. What's impressive is that temperatures of 100º or a bit higher could occur...somewhat of a rarity in June, but not unheard of. One of, if not the most intense heat wave ever recorded in June happened in 1934...well two of them to be exact. Below are the daily max temperatures for selected sites across Indiana for the June 1-9 and June 23-30, 1934 heat waves. Noteworthy is the 106º recorded at South Bend on June 1st.
